Volunteer Opportunities

There are many volunteer opportunities available within ISM-NH. Providing quality programming and running the organization involves people, time and effort , and we appreciate members who volunteer to help us out, no matter how small or large their contribution. Every little bit helps! If you do not want to serve as a committee head but would be willing to help out on a committee, we can use your help there also.

Suggestions for speakers or topics:
The Board of Directors is always looking for new ideas for speakers or topics, or other educational benefits to offer our members .

Assist the officers in the running of the association and making decisions in policy and procedures, and perform tasks that are assigned from time to time. A director assists in the planning and carrying out of the association’s program, and brings fresh ideas to the board. All Board of Director members are asked to attend 3-4 board meetings/ year. These are normally 2-3 hours in the evening with dinner provided, and usually end by 8:00PM. A great way to learn business strategy and team building, and it shows extra effort to your employer or on your resume.

Public Relations:
Submit the meeting agenda to local newspapers and other publications once a month. The contact information is provided to you, and you are encouraged to find other sources as well.

Membership Recruitment Committee Chairperson:
Develop and carry out ideas to increase membership and promote the organization. The existence of ISM-NH is not widely known throughout the state, and the goal of this committee is to spread the word that this organization does exist and can be a valuable resource for companies and individuals who are responsible for purchasing and supply chain functions.

Meeting administration backup person:
Act as back up if the person currently charge of this is not able to attend a meeting (one or more of these tasks):

  • Print out evaluations, certificates, and sign-up sheets for workshops and dinner program
  • Bring the printed sheets to meetings or arrange for someone else to bring them.
  • Print out evaluation forms and either compile the results or give them to the person responsible for doing so.
  • Sell scholarship raffle tickets at the meeting – it’s fun!

Don't miss this opportunity to start enhancing your career, gain valuable support in your job, and network with purchasing and supply management professionals just like you!.
